Things have been very quiet recently around the Clemens camp, but today comes SHOCKING news. Roger Clemens supposedly had a decade long affair with country western singer Mindy McCready which dates back to when McCready was 15 years old. Yes, FIFTEEN years old. Now these are currently only allegations, but if confirmed true this blows away the steroids episode associated with the Rocket. In all reality, his career is already tarnished forever, but now his character comes into question. It’s one thing to have an affair, but it is something totally different to take that step with a 15 year old girl. Sit tight because this could get interesting.
Joey Gathright is Quite the Athlete
Almost a year ago we posted about Joey Gathright of the Kansas City Royals who was able to jump a car. Last night Joey jumped directly over a Dodgers player while running down the first baseline in a Spring Training game. Check out this video clip of Gathright showing off his incredible vertical!
Jose Canseco is Back
The man we love to hate is going to be back on the scene in the coming weeks due to his latest book hitting stores on April 1st. Vindicated: Big Names, Big Liars, and the Battle to Save Baseball is the name of his new book and it promises to have more accusations that will raise eyebrows and make players sweat. Two of the new names Jose unveils as steroid users are Magglio Ordonez and Alex Rodriguez. There was a ton of people who didn’t believe Jose after his first book and almost all the names rang true so do you believe his latest bombshells?
Clemens Congressional Hearing Behind the Scenes
“Man I’m good…I think everyone believes my convoluted, baffling, complex, confused, elaborate, impenetrable, intricate, involved, labyrinthine, perplexing, puzzling, serpentine, tangled, tortuous story. Heck I even I had some of the Congressmen asking me about the Hall of Fame today.”
Clemens vs McNamee The Final Chapter?
Tomorrow brings a Congressional hearing that now revolves around these two delinquents when it was supposed to be more of a follow up to the Mitchell Report as a whole. The media circus that now engulfs Brian “Syringe Stockpiler” McNamee against Roger “I eat steroids for breakfast” Clemens will come to a climax in the morning. Chuck Knoblauch nor Andy Pettite and even Kirk “American Steroids Gangster” will be attending this hearing after previously being scheduled so that only leaves Clemens and McNamee. I truly hope something comes out of the hearing, but I think there is actually a better chance of peace in the Middle East in the near future rather than finalization of this fiasco. The thing that frustrates me the most is that Clemens is the one lying, but can his lobbying and conniving pull through?
C’mon Clemens
So you didn’t do HGH or steroids ever Roger? It took you this long to come up with your cockamamy response to the Mitchell Report? How many lawyers did you advise before the response? Your boy Andy Pettite did it, but your big a$$ didn’t touch the stuff? A guy testifies he injected your a$$ and your saying it wasn’t to beef you up? So many questions, but we truly don’t want a response Roger Clemens because all you would do is lie!
Schilling Sticks with Sox
Curt Schilling’s biggest fan Curt Schilling has signed on for another year with the Boston Red Sox. In all seriousness this makes complete sense for both parties because the Sox get one of the best postseason pitchers of all-time and Schilling gets another shot at a World Series plus $8 million more in chingy.
Yankee Manager Prediction
We should find out by Tuesday at the latest who is the new manager of the New York Yankees. Many analysts predict it will be Don Mattingly, but we are leaning towards Joe Girardi here at SportsUnderground.com. Girardi has much tougher skin and the leadership qualities necessary for success under the bright lights in the Big Apple. Hire Girardi and continue with the same success if not more, but if you hire Mattingly you get Yankee mediocrity which George won’t put up with for long.Â
World Series Game Two Bet
Boston doesn’t dominate in the same fashion as last night, but they do cover -1.5 at Fenway. 😉
Overall Record:
NFL 32-16-3
College Football: 23-25
MLB 7-0
College Basketball 48-37-2
NBA 6-4
World Series Game One Bet
You don’t bet against Josh Beckett in the playoffs and especially not in the World Series. I know the Rockies have won 100 games in a row, but take the Sox and -1.5.
Overall Record:
NFL 32-16-3
College Football: 23-25
MLB 6-0
College Basketball 48-37-2
NBA 6-4
