R.I.P. Scott Kalitta

Scott Kalitta

NHRA Funny Car racer Scott Kalitta passed away today after his car exploded into a huge fireball during one of his sprints during the Lucas Oil NHRA SuperNationals at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in New Jersey. Our thoughts go out to the Kalitta family and the NHRA while coping with this loss.

Golfing Agua Style

I ran across this water hazard recovery video clip today and thought I would share it with everyone. Quite impressive to say the least.

Tiger Woods Breaking News

Tiger Woods

The Golf Channel is reporting that Tiger Woods is done playing golf for the rest of this year. Tiger has decided to have season ending knee surgery just days after winning his 3rd U.S. Open. This means no Tiger in the British Open, PGA Championship, Fed Ex Cup and the Ryder Cup. Ouch! The PGA has to be terrified of what this will do to their TV ratings and sponshorships for upcoming tournaments without Tiger in the mix. It will be interesting to hear if this is 100% true and not a bad rumor, but I doubt the Golf Channel would break this news unless they felt it was air tight.

College Basketball Underclassmen Coming Back

NBA Draft 2008

Today was the deadline for all playas to announce whether or not they were truly declaring for the NBA Draft or merely “testing the waters.” I applaud the list below for electing to return another year rather than getting drafted at some point in the second round (no guaranteed contract) or even worse not getting picked at all. Another year of college will do each of them a world of good. Carolina has to be stoked to stay the least to get all three gentlemen below back for another year along with formerly announced Mr. Everything Tyler Hansborough. You can bank on the fact UNC will be preseason #1 in all major college basketball polls.

* Wayne Ellington G North Carolina
* Ty Lawson PF North Carolina
* Danny Green F North Carolina
* A.J Abrams G Texas
* Robert Dozier F Memphis
* Robert Vaden G UAB
* Jeremy Pargo PG Gonzaga
* Ronald Steele G Alabama
* Chase Budinger G Arizona
* Lester Hudson G Tenn-Martin
* Josh Akognon G Cal State Fullerton

Langston Victorious

Keith Langston

Keith “Sippi” Langston continued his strangle hold on the Pure Stock series at Orange County Speedway with a victory this past weekend. Langston was quite confident heading into the race after winning the pole for the race. The race was never really in question and the win extends Langston of Mississippi Motorsports to over 30 points ahead of the racer in second for the points race. It is already been an incredible year for Langston and big things could be just around the corner.

Ray Allen Can Fly!

The Celtics absolutely broke the Lakers heart last night with a 24 point comeback in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The Celtics are now up 3-1 in the series so you can turn out the lights the party is over. I included a clip below of Ray Allen making an unbelievable reverse layup in the fourth quarter that in my opinion really took the wind out of the Lakers sails.

NBA Finals Bet – June 12th
