Butterfingers

I had planned on starting my hype-machine for Steve Slaton for the Heisman tonight. But instead, here we are, 3 min. into the 3rd quarter, and he has put the ball on the ground not once, but twice. And the second resulted in a TD for Louisville. Who the heck is slathering the ball with Vaseline tonight. There have been 3 TO’s in the 3rd quarter alone (and remember, we’re only 3 min. in). In addition, the first half wasn’t much better. It seemed like every kick had a mishandle on the receiving end. Slickery, Slickery…..

btw…..I had WVU and the over 56 tonight. There, that ought to assure that it’s a loser now! ha!

Pacman “Joke” Jones

Pacman JonesIs this guy for real? Pacman Jones of the Tennessee Titans and formerly of the West Virginia Mountaineers is so talented, but he could care less I think. He has already been in tons of trouble and today comes announcement of a one game suspension handed down by the NFL. The suspension comes after a disgusting display of actions Jones took against a 21 year old this past week. The young lady named Krystal Webb reported Pacman for an incident at a private party last Thursday at a nightclub. The police report states that Jones became verbally abusive and “spit a huge amount of mucus on Ms. Webb’s face and hair, which she preserved for evidence.” Dude, I know you get mad at your hoes, but do you have to resort to spitting?

Chargers Take a Major Jolt

Shawne MerrimanShawne Merriman has decided to drop his appeal against the four game suspension he received from the NFL due to testing positive to steroids. San Diego has to know playing without this stud outside linebacker will be a significant downgrade in one of the AFC’s better defenses. Merriman was appealing the suspension because he and his lawyer felt he ingested a tainted supplement. I am a Chargers fan and love to watch Merriman play, but Shawn…you took a tainted supplement??? Yes you did and it was only tainted because you shot it on your A$$! Stay away from the roids because you are too good.

SportsUnderground.com’s Dumb A$$ of the Week Award

SportsUnderground.com's Dumbass of the Week Award

This week it must go to Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green. Denny allowed his team to completely fall apart this past Monday night against the undefeated Chicago Bears and blow a 23-3 lead in the third quarter. Green utlimately had his own meltdown when he went on a tirade in the press conference after the loss. Then he coached his team to a pathetic 22-9 loss against the previously winless Oakland Raiders who many thought could go through the whole season without a win. There is no doubt in my mind that if the 1-6 Cardinals lose this week to Green Bay then Denny will be fired as head coach during their bye week.

Bunting Gets the Boot in Chapel Hill

John BuntingRumors have been swirling since the beginning of the season that John Bunting would be fired as head coach of the North Carolina Tarheels football team and Sunday it was official. The Tar Heels are 1-6 after an embarassing 23-0 loss this past Thursday on national television to the Virginia Cavaliers and their only win is against Division 1-AA Furman. Athletic Director Dick Baddour announced Sunday that Bunting would be released at the end of the year. Bunting has a record of 25-42 in his six years with the Tar Heels so the writing was definitely on the wall for this to take place.

“New Mexico” to Play in Miami this Weekend

Marcus VickMarcus Vick was recently added to the Dolphins roster after playing six weeks with the practice squad. “New Mexico” will more than likely be a reserve wide receiver and also return kicks for Miami. I am by no means a fan of Marcus, but he does have potential to be an Randle-El type player unless he decides to pull a gun again in a McDonald’s parking lot.
