Godspeed Bo Schembechler

Bo SchembechlerBo Schembechler was one of the greatest college football coaches ever and today the unfortunate news comes that he has passed away. Schembechler was by far at the top of his game along with Tom Osborne(Nebraska,) Joe Paterno (Penn State), and Bobby Bowden (Florida State) when I was growing up. I wish the best to his family during this trying time and you will be missed Bo!

SportsUnderground.com’s Dumb A$$ of the Week Award

SportsUnderground.com's Dumb A$$ of the Week Award

This week the award goes to the New York Giants for allowing the Chicago Bears to run back another 108 yard missed field goal attempt. Last year Nathan Vasher ran one back against the San Francisco 49ers for 108 and this year it was Devin Hester. Hester literally hung out in the end zone before deciding to take off because he saw some of the New York Giants walking to the side lines.

Terrell Owens Survival Guide

Terrell OwensI know almost all of you have wondered at times how a cantankerous Bill Parcells puts up with the circus act we call Terrell Owens, but wish no longer because the cat is out of the bag.  Here is your T.O. Survival Guide and it includes some famous scenarios of Owens past and how to survive them. It all makes sense now Bill so I thank you for sharing and best of luck with the rest of the season!

Carolina Panthers Cheerleaders Anniversary

Renee Thomas and Angela KeathleyIt was only one year ago yesterday that one of my favorite sports stories unfolded down in Tampa, Florida. Renee Thomas and Angela Keathley got busy in a Banana Joe’s bathroom before getting clocked by another bar patron. These two darlings used to be Panthers cheerleaders until this notorious incident and will always hold a special place in my heart. ESPN Page 2 has a great satire on the occurrence and I have included the link below. Renee and Angela when will we hear from you again?

SportsUnderground.com’s Dumb A$$ of the Week Award

Pittsburgh SteelersOur prestigious award is generally given to an individual, but this week it must be given to an entire team because I’m sure they feel this way. The Pittsburgh Steelers fell to a putrid 2-6 after a home loss yesterday to the Denver Broncos. I know there are “hangovers” and drop-offs generally after you win the Super Bowl, but this is down right ridiculous. You can put a priority stamp on this season because the Steelers have mailed it in.

Chicago Em”Bear”assed

72 DolphinsThere was two undefeated teams coming into to NFL Week 9, but after the one o’clock games today there is now only one, the Indianapolis Colts. The Chicago Bears no longer are undefeated after being embarassed today in front of their home town fans against the Miami Dolphins. Jason Taylor forced a fumble and returned an interception for a touchdown to helo Miami stun the Bears 31-13. Ronnnie Brown controlled the ground game with 157 yards for the Fish. It’s bad enough the Bears no longer have an undefeated season, but it was ended by the previously 1-6 Dolphins. I think the spirits from the 1972 undefeated Dolphins team were in attendance at Soldier Field today.

Game Summary: Chicago Bears Upset by Dolphins
