My ode to Oden is going to be very short and sweet. Oden is a rookie senior citizen that unfortunately ended up with the same injury as a former Trailblazer #1 pick Sam Bowie. Oden had surgery today on a microfracture of his knee and is done for the entire year. Portland’s season is done before it starts and so is Oden’s professional career.

Shaquille O’Neal wants a divorce from his wife Shaunie with whom he has been married to for the last five years. They currently have a home up for sale at a whopping $32 million price tag plus he is pulling down $20 million a year with the Heat. This doesn’t even count how much Shaq D makes in endorsements so little Miss Shaunie just hit the jackpot to say the least since it’s likely she will take the five kids.

Not only is he possibly coming back, but it’s rumored to be with the Boston Celtics. I personally think Reggie is still valuable based upon his shooting alone and he would be an excellent addition to the revampled Celtics. Danny Ainge has work left on his plate in respect to filling out his squad after losing so much in the trade for Garnett. In the last week they have signed Eddie House and Scott Pollard and we will just have to see if Reggie Miller is next.

It was a little over a month ago we discussed our thoughts on a Kevin Garnett trade to Boston. We didn’t think there was a chance the trade would actually happen, but it turns out we were wrong. It is being reported a deal is in place to send Al Jefferson, Gerald Green, Sebastian Telfair, Theo Ratliff and maybe even Ryan Gomes to the Minnesota Timberwolves for KG. Who would have thought the Celtics would give up all that talent for Garnett? I think the Celtics have to be thought of as a contender now though in the East now with Garnett alongside Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.

The silly overhyped feud is finally over it seems. ABC will not have the Lakers and Heat play again this Christmas after doing so the last three years. Instead Shaq and gang will be facing King James and the Cavs on Xmas.

Grant Hill has annnounced he is going to sign with the Phoenix Suns.  This is an extremely solid pickup for the Suns to add veteran leadership plus Grant was healthy for the first time in a long time last year.  Grant really wants a title and feels Phoenix is just the team to do it.
