A-Rod Reaches 600 Club

Alex Rodriguez hit his 600th home run (youngest ever) today after 46 at-bats, 12 games and 50 ESPN programming interruptions since his 599th homerun. 28 year-old Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Shaun Marcum gave up A-Rod’s A-Bomb which means he will go down in the record books along with Alex. I think we can all agree this milestone is tainted with a capital T, but at least it is over and we can all move on to bigger and better things. It would be fantastic if we could just skip over to September so baseball actually begins to mean something and football season will be upon us.

MLB Bets of the Day – August 4th, 2010

Rolling with Cueto against the Pirates and Edwin Jackson in his first start of the White Sox today. Feel free to tail or fade, but you can’t win unless you are in. Good luck!

Brett Favre is Retiring (maybe)

Many news outlets are reporting Brett Favre has informed Minnesota Vikings officials that he will not be playing for them in the 2010-11 season. He reportedly made this announcement via a text message which isn’t the most personable way to let an organization who is waiting on pins and needles for you to return know you are leaving them high and dry. Tavaris Jackson and Sage Rosenfels come on down because you are the next contestants to battle for the starting quarterback spot. Is this really the last of Favre watch?

MLB Bets of the Day – August 3rd, 2010

Buck Showalter manages his first game tonight with the Orioles so we expect a new attitude in the locker room and it should carry over to the field tonight. Joe Saunders pitches his first game with Arizona and we expect him to look solid against the Nationals. Good luck!

Press Hop 2 is the Joint

The second sports mix rendition from DJ Steve Porter has arrived and it is appropriately named Press Hop 2. It’s been almost a year since the break out hit Press Hop which has exceeded 2 1/2 million YouTube views to date. I thoroughly enjoy the Ryan Leaf, Jim Calhoun and Herm Edwards clips, but the Deion Sanders jerry curl ones might take the cake. Enjoy!

MLB Bets of the Day – July 30th, 2010

As soon as we get a little proud of ourselves we have a night to forget. Riding the arms of Roy Oswalt in his debut with the Phillies and Mike Pelfrey at home against the Diamondbacks. Good luck!
