Mark Cuban Meets WWE

If you didn’t get a chance to catch WWE this past Monday you missed out on Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban as the official guest host of Monday Night Raw. In typical wrestling fashion the WWE guest host got involved in the action and Cuban paid for interrupting the disagreement between John Cena and Shamus. Cuban was eventually sent through a table set up in the ring corner by Seamus and that was the end of Cuban’s stunt. Is there any question after watching this video why the ole codgers who run Major League Baseball won’t allow Mr. Cuban to own a team? I personally don’t think there is anything wrong with it, but MLB wouldn’t even allow spider webs on the bases a few years ago.

My Annual BCS Rant

Can someone please tell me why the Coaches’ poll is still a staggering 1/3 of the BCS formula? Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel voted Florida 3rd which was ahead of TCU, Boise and Cincy plus Les Miles on his final ballot slotted unbeaten Cincinnati 8th and the 2-loss Ohio State Buckeyes 5th. If we have to continue to put up with this extremely flawed system than can we please adjust the weight of the Coaches’ poll since some of the coaches don’t care and it’s even been determined they sometimes have someone else vote for them. These coaches eat, sleep and drink their own team and many times don’t catch hardly any other football across the nation.

Here are some other examples of how flawed the coaches’ poll is in my opinion.
> The head coach of Air Force ranked Florida second.
> Three coaches had TCU 5th and this is a team that went undefeated and had the third toughest schedule in the country.
> Two Big East coaches ranked Cincinnati 2nd, but seven coaches ranked the Bearcats 6th.
> Nine coaches voted Texas 3rd, and the head coach of Louisiana-Monroe had the Longhorns 4th.
> And in one of the most asinine ballots of all you only need to look at Missouri’s head coach who had three 2-loss teams ranked (Penn State, Oregon, Ohio State) ahead of unbeaten Boise. He also had two-loss Penn State ahead of Iowa and Iowa beat them at Penn State.

Coaches are going to vote on conference lines due to money they will receive on the backend so why even keep the Coaches’ poll in the mix?

NFL Bet of the Day – December 7th, 2009

Tonight we have the Ravens at the Packers and both teams are fighting to get in the playoffs in their respective conferences. Green Bay has been playing pretty well since their ugly loss to the Buccaneers back in early November in Tampa. Baltimore has been all over the place this year, but I expect them to get some shots on Aaron Rodgers due to the pitiful protection he gets from his offensive line. I’m going with the Ravens and the points.

Ravens +3.5

Overall Record:

College Football 34-22 (this year) 139-113-1 (overall)
NFL 32-16 (this year) 135-88-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 1-1 (this year) 198-150-6 (overall)
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Tiger Woods Voicemail Video Montage

I’m sure all of you have heard Tiger’s voicemail to alleged mistress Jaimee Grubbs by now, but if you haven’t then you really need to get out a little more often. Jaimee Grubbs is an absolute attention “whore” (no pun intended) and is going to milk this 15 minutes of fame for all it’s worth. There have already been semi-nude pictures of Jaimee Grubbs leaked and now there is word about a possible sex tape. Surprise surprise considering it seems everyone has a damn sext tape these days. Here is a funny video spoof of Tiger’s voicemail to Jaimee with a nice little slow jam twist. I hope you enjoy!

What do you do to make the New York Jets versus the Buffalo Bills interesting? Well, you put some cold hard cash on it of course. Take the Bills!

Tiger Woods Humor

Yesteday we received Tiger Woods website issued apology for his “transgressions” and we also learned of other women in Tiger has taken for a spin. The count is now at three women and I won’t even venture to guess where that number will end up after the media is done with him. I do think Tiger is actually taking the right stance in this situation by not addressing the media. This is a personal matter even though he is a public figure and it needs to be resolved internally with his family versus publically in the media. I understand he gets paid millions upon millions to be a public figure, but this specific situation/situations isn’t a public issue. Since there hasn’t been much humor on the topic of Tiger over the last week we thought it would be appropriate to provide some Tiger jokes. Hope you enjoy the jokes and make sure you play the Tiger Hunting video game too!

Tiger Woods Jokes

It was just reported that Phil Mickelson contacted Tiger’s wife to pick up some tips on how to beat Tiger!

Apparently the police asked Tiger’s wife how many times she hit him. She said “I don’t know exactly, but put me down for a 5.”

Tiger Woods is so rich that he owns lots of expensive cars. The cool thing is now he has a hole-in-one.

What’s the difference between Tiger’s car and a golf ball? Tiger can drive a ball 400 yards.

What were Tiger Woods and his wife doing out at 2:30 in the morning? They went clubbing.

Tiger Woods crashed into a fire hydrant and a tree. Guess he couldn’t decide between an iron and a wood.

Be sure to get to the end and if you play again, the girlfriend in the car changes.

NHL Player Slashes Own Goalie

By the looks of this video it appears Florida Panthers defenseman Keith Ballard was rather perturbed after his team gave up a goal last night against the Atlanta Thrashers. Ballard literally slashed his own goalie Tomas Vokoun and then he even went back for another swipe at the goal post for good measure. Can you receive a fine for slashing your own teammate?

College Basketball Bet of the Day – December 1st

Tonight at 9:00 PM EST we have the rematch of last year’s National Championship game and it’s being hosted at the Dean Dome in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Last year UNC took it to Michigan State, but I don’t expect the same outcome tonight. UNC lost a lot of talent and I think the Spartans have revenge on their mind. Take Izzo and gang!

Michigan State +2.5
