NFL Bet of the Day – November 22nd, 2010

The over has hit in seven of the Denver Broncos nine games this year. In San Diego’s nine games this year the over has hit six times. Even with both of those indicators we are going with the under. Good luck!

Favorite Week in the NFL

This is the week in the 2010 NFL season where you have a lot of favorites who will cover. The year has been littered with parity, but that streak is over, at least for this week.  Here are some monster selections

CHIEFS (-7) over Cardinals
I’m gonna continue to ride the Chiefs at home until they lose. I’m a big Todd Haley fan even though his Chiefs were embarrassed last week in Denver. Take the Chiefs.
========================
Ravens (-10.5) over PANTHERS
When you can lay 10.5 points against a 31-year-old QB with no career starts you have to do it.  Last week Brian St. Pierre was playing Mr. Mom, but this week he is lunch for Ray Lewis. Take the Ravens.
=========================
SAINTS (-11.5) over Seahawks
The game I have been waiting for all season is finally here. I’m excited for the Reggie Bush/Pete Carroll reunion. During their postgame handshake, they will hire a third party to give Reggie $100K in cash while Pete looks the other way. Take the Saints.
=========================
Falcons (-3) over RAMS
You’re a potential # 1 seed coming off 10 days of rest. These are the games which show the league that they are looking up at you. Atlanta comes in and crushes the Rams.

Fragile Stafford

If you didn’t see the latter part of the Jets and Lions game this past Sunday than you missed Matt Stafford’s right shoulder getting crunched for the second time this year. News out of Detroit today points to Stafford being done for the season due to a Grade 3 separation of the shoulder. Now the question needs to be asked is Stafford very unlucky or is he more fragile than fine china? Stafford signed a six-year deal for $41.7 million last year, but has only played in 13 games to date. The Lions do seem like a team on the rise, but Drew Stanton and/or Shaun Hill aren’t the answer so Stafford must stay healthy.

NFL Bet of the Day – November 8th, 2010

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 2-6 against the spread versus a team with a losing record. Pittsburgh is also 2-5-1 against the spread in their last eight games against the AFC North. Good luck!

Bengals +6

Hard to believe it’s already November and that the NFL season is basically halfway done. The over is 10-1 in the last eleven meetings between the Colts and Texans. Good luck!

Brett Favre’s Open Fly Jeans

In case you didn’t catch Saturday Night Live this past weekend we wanted to make sure you had the opportunity to see a hilarious skit about Brett Favre. Favre is in a lot of hot water right now for allegedly sending former Jet’s reporter Jenn Sterger pictures of Lil’ Favre so SNL decided to wrap that saga into a Wrangler commerical parody. Priceless!

NFL Bets of the Day – October 25th, 2010

The Dallas Cowboys are an extremely desparate team and basically are playing for their season tonight. I realize they have what might be the worst head coach in the league, but Dallas has a top tier defense and offense. Good luck!

NFL Bets of the Day – October 24th, 2010

The talk all week has been around the NFL coming down on players for all the hard hits we saw last Sunday. It will be interesting to see what happens today in the games. Will the players be able to adjust or are fines and suspensions inevitable? Enjoy the games and good luck!

Bears -3
Chargers/Pats over 48

The NFL is King

So far this year the NFL has had some excellent Monday Night games on TV, but this past Monday was a real stinker. Tennessee and Jacksonville isn’t very appealing to a national audience and quite frankly the Jaguars have a hard time getting people in northern Florida to care about them. Considering the game was a 30-3 blowout one might think the MLB playoff game between the nationally loved Yankees and the Texas Rangers would win in the TV ratings, right? WRONG! The abysmal MNF matchup was watched by 7.2% of US households and the Yankees/Rangers were only watched by 6.5% of homes. Imagine how bad the NFL would have crushed baseball if the Giants/Cowboys, Jets/Patriots or Packers/Vikings would have been pitted against each other. America’s pastime continues to lose their audience while the NFL gains popularity at a rapid pace. If the NFL is smart, and I believe them to be, they will figure out the looming collective bargaining agreement and insure there is no stoppage in play. The NFL is the cream of the crop when it comes to professional sports at this time and a lockout is something they must avoid at all cost.
