College Basketball Coaching Carousel

Coaching Carousel

Done deals

Stan Heath is fired from Arkansas and then accepts the South Florida job

Dana Altman leaves Creighton for Arkansas job

Steve Alford leaves Iowa for the New Mexico head coaching job

Todd Lickliter leaves Butler to accept the Iowa job

In the works

John Beilein appears to be set to accept the Michigan head coaching job if Michigan agrees to buy out his contract from West Virginia for $2.5 million.  This one might not happen because of that sticking point.

Mike Montgomery to Long Beach State??

Billy Donovan to Kentucky??

Florida Gators Back to Back National Champions

Florida Gators

I’m going to make this pretty short and sweet because I didn’t want to see the arrogant Gators win back to back National Championships, but they did so they at least deserve a mention.  Corey Brewer received the Most Outstanding Player of the tourney, Lee Humphrey is a three point shooting machine, Chris Richard played like a senior should play, Taurean Green is a solid leader and Al Horford rebounded his a$$ off all tournament.  Joakim Noah is an idiot and will always be an idiot.  Good luck in the NBA Joakim…LOL!

The biggest question of all now is will Billy Donovan jump ship to Kentucky?  I think it would be a really bad move to jump in that frying pan, but the money does talk to people sometimes.  Florida fans will immediately lose respect and the Kentucky fans are quick to disown you Billy!  These are things I hope you are thinking about during your decision process.

Congratulations Florida Gators for your 2007 National Championship.

Jurassic Park in the NBA

Kevin Willis

The Dallas Mavericks have confirmed they are going to sign a real life dinosaur to a ten day contract.  None other than 44 YEAR OLD Kevin “Velociraptor” Willis is coming out of retirement to play with Dallas.  The 7 foot Willis has averaged 12.2 points and 8.4 rebounds during his career and was part of the 2003 World Champion San Antonio Spurs.

Underground Scoop

Sports rumors

Long Beach State 49ers

I have heard from an extremely reliable source this evening some SHOCKING news for college basketball.  Long Beach State will soon be announcing a new head coach for their men’s basketball team.  Keep in mind this University has had the likes of Lute Olson, Seth Greenberg and Jerry Tarkanian as their head coach through the years so they do hold their own.  The Long Beach State 49ers will announce Mike freakin Montgomery as their new head coach in the coming daysa year after he left the NBA and Golden State.  Montgomery is an alum of LBSU and wants to get back in the college ranks.  You can bank on this baby just like you could the “chalk” in this years NCAA tournament.  Snoop Dogg has to be proud about the news for his LBC.  Thoughts???

Final Four Fever

Joakim Noah dancing

We are one day away from the Final Four and you can almost feel the electricity in the air.  During these times the fans of their beloved schools love to have some fun along the way.  I tip my cap to the UCLA fans who participated in the thread below.  I almost started crying because I was laughing so hard when I saw some of the Joakim Noah pictures.  I know my boy DB will love this post.

3 Player Dunk

I have never seen something like this before in my life. Three high school basketball players dunking the ball at the same time.

Barton College Comeback

For those of you who didn’t see (I’m sure it’s most everybody) the Division II basketball championship here is your chance.  Barton College made a miraculous comeback against Winona State who hadn’t lost a game in the last year and a half before this game.  Check out this video clip.

Kobe Bryant “Flight 24”

Mr. Bryant has dropped at least 50 points in a row the last four games. It’s a shame the Lakers are in the West because if they were in the East we could watch LA and Kobe put on a show in the NBA Finals. No one in the East could beat the Lakers if Kobe played like this video clip below, but they just don’t stand a chance in the West.

My Apologies

Pinehurst Country Club

Sorry about the lack of posts over the last three days. Stonecold has been down in beatiful Pinehurst, NC for a business conference. I did get to swing the sticks on Course No. 1 Monday and it was a BLAST. Anyways I am back and ready for the Sweet Sixteen games starting tomorrow.
