I’m Fed Up With KG

Has anyone else observed Kevin Garnett excessively hooting and hollering from the sidelines during the Celtics and Bulls series? It is one thing when he would taunt and bark at other players while healthy and on the court, but now he is off the chain from the sidelines. KG is constantly flapping his gums and making ridiculous mad faces from the bench and I have become more frustrated each game with his antics. Last night though I finally had enough of Garnett after Rondo’s questionable foul at the end of the Game 5 on Brad Miller. Miller ended up bloody and seemed quite dazed from the hard foul, but he still had to try and gather himself in order to shoot two free throws. The Bulls were down by two with two seconds left and not surprisingly Miller missed the first free throw. Garnett saw this as an opportunity to yell at the top of his lungs that Miller is a choker and of course he included every four letter word in the book during his tirade.

Kevin Garnett

KG might want to take a step back and think about the fact the Bulls lost as many games this year as they one yet they are giving the Celtics a whale of a series. Secondly, he might want to think about the fact Miller probably saw stars rotating around the basket due to Rondo’s foul. I think it would be great if Garnett would quit showing his a$$ and instead sit on it for the rest of the Playoffs because he is really tarnishing his image. I’m done with him already, but others are sure to follow suit if he continues his moronic ways!

Simona Halep Is Sensational

If you have ever visited our site then you already know we are huge fans of the women’s tennis. Our two favorite current athletes on tour are Maria Sharapova and Ana Ivanovic due to their phenomenal skills. Both women have won majors on tour Well, we are happy to annouce a third lady to the list and my gracious her skills are plentiful. Her name is Simona Halep and she is only a 17-year old Romanian who is the current Junior French Open Champion. Halep isn’t officially on the WTA Tour yet, but many tennis analysts predict she will be turning pro very soon and they are expecting big things from her in the coming years. We at SportsUnderground.com are also expecting huge things from her as well and promise to provide ample coverage of this up and coming star. Until next time this one is for you Simona Halep!

Fed Rules Roddick

Roger Federer

Andy Roddick is now 0-7 versus Roger Federer in Grand Slam tournaments. Fed gassed Roddick again yesterday in the semifinals of this year’s Aussie Open 6-2, 7-5, 7-5. Federer is seeking his fourth Australian title and will play the winner of Friday’s semifinal match between Nadal and Fernando Verdasco. Roger is also chasing his 14th Grand Slam victory overall which would tie him with Pete Sampras for the most ever. I have a strong feeling by the end of this weekend Fed will be one Grand Slam championship away from the most ever!

Maria Returns

It’s official. Maria Sharpova will make her return on January 19th ’09 for the Aussie Open. This is the best news I have heard all week! 🙂

Maria Sharapova

Fed is Back

Roger Federer

Roger Federer has had a difficult year to date based on the lofty expectations he and all tennis fans have come to anticipate over the last few years, but that all changed today. After losing in the semifinals at the Aussie Open and in the finals at Roland Garros and Wimbledon this year he changed thingstoday by destroying Andy Murray in straight sets to win his fifth US Open in a row. This is Federer’s 13th major title and he is now only one behind all-time leader Pete Sampras. Nadal, Murray and Djokovic will be in Roger’s way next year, but I think when it’s all said and done he will make history and break the record in ’09.

Ashley Harkleroad Unveiled

Ashley Harkleroad

If you haven’t heard already, women’s tennis star Ashley Harkleroad is currently gracing the pages of Playboy magazine. Ashley is currently 65th on the WTA, but ranks much higher in our minds at SportsUnderground.com after hearing this fantastic news. We have to be honest as die hard as we are about sports we have never heard of Miss Harkleroad until now. We quickly began searching for pics on the web and saw a few that peeked our interest. I think moving forward we will be checking tournament results to see how she performs and hoping she climbs the ranks to battle Ivanovic or Sharapova. Has anyone seen the new mag? Thoughts?

Ivanovic Pushed to the Limit

Ana Ivanovic

Number one seed Ana Ivanovic had to scratch and claw her way to a second-round victory today at Wimbledon over Nathalie Dechy. Ana had to overcome two match points in the second-round and a tough third-round in order to win the match 6-7, 7-6, 10-8. Congrats Ana! 🙂 SportsUnderground.com loves ya!

Ana Victorious

Ana Ivanovic

Ana Ivanovic won her first Grand Slam title yesterday in the French Open by defeating Dinara Safina 6-4, 6-3. Ana will also be the new #1 player in women’s tennis when the rankings are updated. Congratulations Ana and we look forward to watching you play for many years.

Ivanovic Makes French Final

Ana Ivanovic

We are still a little sad that Sharapova was beat earlier this week in Paris, but we are very excited Ivanovic is still in the mix. Ana beat Jelena Jankovic today 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 in the semis and will play Dinara Safina in the French Open final. Ivanovic is one smokin Serbian on the real and she can also play some tennis. Enjoy!

Sharapova Slips by in French Opener

Maria Sharapova

Maria fought her way to a first-round 6-1, 3-6, 8-6 victory today over Evgeniya Rodina, a Russian teen making her Grand Slam debut. We were scared for a bit because it would have meant an early exit for Maria and that just isn’t right. This is the French Open at Roland Garros and Maria just has to be in the mix.
