Beasley Turns to Rehab

Michael Beasley the former number-two pick of the 2008 NBA draft by the Miami Heat has committed himself to a rehabilitation hospital. The former superstar from Kansas State was reportedly encouraged to go to rehab by representatives from the Heat due to possible psychological and substance issues. Beasley is supposed to spend some time with John Lucas a former NBA coach and player who has helped many people through substance abuse issues. This doesn’t come with much surprise after Beasley left alarming tweets recently on Twitter like, “Feelin like it’s not worth livin!!!!!!! I’m done,” and “Y do I feel like the whole world is against me…I can’t win for losin.” Beasley had a good first year with Miami after averaging almost 14 points and over 5 boards a game. Let’s hope this story turns out with a happy ending.

Quentin Richardson Needs A Hug

NBA forward-guard Quentin Richardson has been swapped more times this summer than a Ken Griffey Junior rookie card at a baseball card show. Richardson has now officially been traded FOUR times just this offseason. The Knickerbockers sent Quentin to Memphis on draft night for lottery pick bust Darko Milicic. Then three weeks later, the Grizz sent him to the LA Clippers for cantankerous Zach Randolph. Then just three days later LA sent him to the Minnesota for Mark “I Can’t Dance” Madsen, Sebastian Telfair and Craig Smith. Finally Richardson was sent to Miami from the T-wolves for veteran center Mark Blount. It seems the Heat truly plan on keeping Q and he will make $8.7 million this coming year which is the final year of his contract. It has to be embarrassing to be shipped around that much in such a short amount of time, but for $8 million you can trade me for an order of nachos and I will still be asmiling.

Jerry Stackhouse Meet John Wall

Check out this video of soon to be Kentucky freshman John Wall dunking all over Jerry Stackhouse in a S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM game from this past weekend. S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM the so called “Rucker of the South” has an impressive list of talent and you check the rosters here. S.J.G. Greater NC Pro-AM rosters Marvin Williams, Kyle Singler, Flip Murray, Raymond Felton, Seth Curry, Chris Duhon, and Josh Powell are some of the names headlining the talent ridden teams.

St. Louis Whoppers Will Happen

You laugh now, but I think someday there is a real probability you will see a professional team sell out to a company in full. As soon as one prominent team takes the leap by placing Dell on the front of their jersey it will only be a matter of time before others follow suit. The need for other revenue streams during the current economy woes has the NBA and NHL already taking steps to have corporate sponsorships for game uniforms.

Starting this year the NBA will let teams sell ads on their practice jerseys and per league officials they are continuing to explore the idea of placing ads on actual game jerseys. NHL COO John Collins says the league would consider placing advertisements on game jerseys for the right price. At this time the NFL and MLB aren’t looking at jumping on the money train, but things can change. I’m 100% against US professional teams mimicking European Soccer standards, but at the end of the day it’s a business so they are in it for the cabbage. Look for this to happen in the NHL first since they are the lowest performer of the top four American professional sports leagues. So be prepared to purchase your Carolinna Home Depot, Dallas Dick’s Sporting Goods, Chicago IBM and Atlanta Time Warner jerseys’.

LeBron James Dunked on Video

Thanks to eBaumnation.com the proverbial cat is out of the bag in respect to LeBron James getting dunked on at his own Skills Camp a couple of weeks ago. I guess Nike and King James didn’t confiscate all the footage that day because this video definitely shows Jordan Crawford getting all sorts of jiggy with it on LeBron James dome.

Shaquille O’Neal’s Version of Beat It

It seems everywhere you turn these days you can’t help but hear someone reference the recently departed Michael Jackson. I guess this is what happens when we lose an icon, but for me personally it can get a bit old sometimes. Speaking of getting a bit old Shaquille “I need attention” O’Neal decided to perform his own rendition of the Michael Jackson hit Beat It. Check out the video to see Shaq ham it up like usual.

Taurasi faces 3 drunk-driving charges

Mercury star Diana Taurasi faces three drunken driving related charges, including extreme DUI, for a July 2 incident in which she also was cited for speeding.

act_diana_taurasi

Taurasi’s blood-alcohol level was 0.17 percent, or more than twice the Arizona legal limit of 0.08 percent. She almost exceeded the amount as points (22) she scored that night. Nice work Diana!

This is her third, YES I said third DUI, and in return the WNBA flexed their muscles and gave her a 2 game suspension today. I assure you she will not be behind the wheel of a car for about as long as Donte Stallworth.

By the way it’s Diana Taurasi Day against the San Antonio Silver Stars on August 1st and beer is only a buck so bring the kids!

Richard Jefferson Pulls Out

It certainly has been a busy summer for NBA star Richard Jefferson. Jefferson was traded this offseason from the Milwaukee Bucks to the San Antonio Spurs which certainly raised a lot of eyebrows with basketball fans. The Spurs were able to make a serious upgrade in talent by acquiring Jefferson after swapping some has been NBA veterans like Kurt Thomas, Fabricio Oberto and Bruce Bowen. However, the trade didn’t raise nearly as many eyebrows as the stunt Jefferson pulled this past weekend. RJ broke things off with his fiancee Kesha Ni’Cole Nichols a former New Jersey Net dancer just before his $2 million wedding in Manhattan was set to take place. Things happened so quickly Jefferson wasn’t even able to inform all the parties his wedding had been canceled. All was not lost though because Jefferson offered his black Amex card to his friends and told them to have a good time on him. Cristal for everyone playas!

Antoine Walker Will Work For Food

Antoine “I never saw a shot I didn’t like” Walker has been charged by Las Vegas prosecutors for owing some serious cabbage to some Vegas Casinos. Walker who won a NBA Title with the Miami Heat in 2006 owes Planet Hollywood, Red Rock Resort and Caesars Palace close to $1 million. Looks like someone will be heading off to Europe for a couple of seasons since no one in the NBA is willing to give you a shot anymore.

LeBron James Gets Dunked On

Word on the streets is LeBron James was hammered on this past Monday night by Xavier guard Jordan Crawford at LeBron’s Skill Camp. The more intriguing aspect of the story is that supposively Nike and LeBron requested the video should not be released to the public. Why confiscate the tape? Does this somehow hurt LeBron’s almighty image? Will the LeBron puppet not know how to handle another disappointment? There is no doubt at some point the video of Crawford two-hand jamming on LeBron will get out and rest assure when it does we will have it. Stay tuned.
