A couple of months ago John Madden announced he was retiring from Sunday Night Football and NBC quickly announced Cris Collinsworth as his predecessor. The loss of all-time great Madden isn’t the only change NBC dealt with this season because earlier this week they announced Jerome “The Bus” Bettis wouldn’t be back this coming season. Bettis won’t be replaced by just one person though after the announcement came that Tony Dungy and recently retired Rodney Harrison will now be part of of the team. Did they really need to add another person in the studio that is already filled with Bob Costas, Keith Olbermann, Dan Patrick, Tiki Barber and Peter King? If NBC keeps this up they will exceed the salary cap of a regular NFL team.
