Brad Stevens is a Wanted Man

Brad Stevens might resemble a no-nonsense biology teacher or a member of the Geek Squad, but in the eyes of athletic directors these days he looks like a masterful coach. Stevens who is only 33-years-old led the Butler Bulldogs in the tournament past Hall of Famer Jim Boeheim, Frank “Gambino” Martin, legendary tourney coach Tom Izzo and damn near took down arguably the third best college basketball coach ever in Coach K. Stevens is 89-15 at Butler since taking over for Todd Lickliter and his potential seems limitless.

Oregon will be calling Mr. Stevens very soon if they haven’t already extended him or his agent a truckload of cash. Oregon has swung and missed on a lot of high caliber candidates already, but if they could land the young coach things would be on the up-and-up for the Ducks’ basketball program immediately. The one thing that might hold Stevens back would be the fact that if Gordon Hayward doesn’t go pro the Bulldogs’ would be returning five of its top six scorers and could make another run at the title next year. Decisions, decisions.
