Romo is Rich

Tony Romo contract

Tony Romo has just inked the largest deal in Cowboy history with a six-year $67.5 million dollar deal. Romo has looked nice in the Cowboys 6-1 start, but isn’t this jumping the gun a little for Jerry Jones and the Boys? I personally think this is too early and too much, but his star power is undeniable. If Jerry would have locked this deal up at the beginning of the year like Romo’s agent wanted how much would he have saved? I think the number would have been at least $20 million!

Chris Chambers Traded

Chris Chambers

It’s not often there is a big trade before the NFL trade deadline, but this one should have some impact. The San Diego Chargers traded a second round pick next year to the struggling Dolphins in order to acquire veteran wide receiver Chris Chambers. Chambers played for the Wisconsin Badgers and was drafted by Dolphins in 2001. Chamber’s best year was in 2005 when he caught 82 balls for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. Chambers and Vincent Jackson along with Antonio Gates at tight end should give Rivers a solid receiving corps. Agree?

Welcome Back Bungles

Cincinnati Bungles

The Cincinnati Bengals are now officially back to their normal name over the last few years of the Bungles. They dropped to 1-4 today after losing to the offensively challenged Kansas City Chiefs. KC was able to throw up 27 points against the pourous Bungles defense that is currently allowing 31.2 points a game. The one thing I can’t figure out is that the Bungles head coach Marvin Lewis used to be a highly touted defensive coordinator. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.

My Man Vinny

Vi nny Testaverde

Vinny Testaverde came out of retirement earlier this week after signing with the Carolina Panthers. Vinny has now officially come out of retirement more times now than George Foreman and Michael Jordan combined. He hasn’t even been with the team for a week yet he was the starting quarterback today against the Arizona Cardinals due to David Carr’s bad back. ‘Vinnie Viagra’ led the Panthers to an impressive 25-10 win over the Cardinals by completing 20 of 33 for 206 yards and a touchdown pass to Steve Smith. Vinnie is one impressive 43 year-old man and if he doesn’t start in two weeks over ‘Pretty Boy’ David Carr then John Fox needs a lobotomy. Vinny’s da man!
