Our latest poll is out and Boise State now joins the top 5. Oklahoma State and USC were the two big drops for the week and we continue to believe in TCU and Oregon. Thoughts?

College Football Bet of the Day – November 3rd, 2009

Bowling Green/Buffalo over 55

Brandon Spikes Eye Gouging Video

Everyone knows things can get dirty during a pileup in a football game, but most of the time those antics aren’t captured on tape. Well, check out this video of Florida Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes aggregiously gouging the eyes of Georgia Bulldogs running back Washaun Ealey during their game this past weekend. I think SEC officials should be looking at this tape very closely and possibly take some disciplinary action.

Update – The Gators have suspended Spikes for the first half of their next game against Vanderbilt. BIG DEAL!

College Football Bet of the Day – October 30th, 2009

It’s All Hallows Eve and we have a Big East Friday night tilt between West Virginia and South Florida. South Florida has been struggling a bit recently and I expect to see that trend continue tonight.

NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)

NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

College Football Bet of the Day – October 29th, 2009

The Tarheels roll into Blacksburg this evening which means trouble is at the foot of Circle K. The Tarheels offense is stagnant generally and the Hokies have one heck of a D. I think this game is going way under!

Heels/Hokies under 43.5

Overall Record:

College Football 29-19 (this year) 134-110-1 (overall)
NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Latest SU.com College Football Poll

Our latest college football poll is out and we have some thoughts that differentiate from the national polls. We feel Texas is better than Alabama, TCU is a top five team, Georgia Tech is the seventh best team and Cincinnati is highly overrated. These are just a few of our thoughts so chekc out our latest poll.

College Football Bet of the Day – October 27th, 2009

The home team has won EVERY single Tuesday night college football game so far this year, but I think things change tonight. I look for ECU to win and cover the spread.

ECU -3.5

Overall Record:

College Football 28-19 (this year) 133-110-1 (overall)
NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball
197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Hampton Forward Dead from Accidental Shooting

Theo Smalling a captain for the Hampton University basketball team has died from a reported accidental shooting outside a nightclub over the weekend. Smalling was a 22-year-old Tampa, Florida native who played forward for the Pirates and started 76 games over the last three years. Police have charged 21-year-old Dominique Devon Smith with reckless handling of a firearm because he mishandled his gun and shot Smalling in the parking lot early Saturday morning. This happens just a little over a week after Connecticut football cornerback Jasper Howard was stabbed to death at a school function. It’s such a shame to see these young men leave the world so early.

Not the Same Type of Party!

The World’s Largest Cocktail party just lost some of its luster after a recent change to the gathering. The annual matchup between Georgia and Florida, held in Jacksonville, no longer will allow visitors to purchase adult beverages larger than 20 ounces. In recent years, some vendors would sell any drink you could think of (beer, purple drank, margaritas, or just some good ole fashion sippy sippy) in containers that could exceed 50 ounces. Obviously this led to people getting annihilated so this is something the promoters are looking to avoid. Even nearby drinking establishments will also have to limit their alcohol sales in order to avoid alcohol related issues at the game. I recommend stacking up on air plane bottles and tuck them away for the big game.
