I have seen a lot of drunk people at sporting events, but when I saw this video clip it disgusted and tickled me at the same time.
Cincinnati Mayor’s Horrendous First Pitch
What in the blue hell is this display or should I say non-display of talent? I truly could have thrown the ball better before I left the womb. UUUUGGGGHHHHH!
Ugueth Urbina Convicted
The free agenet MLB reliever has been sentenced to 14 years in jail for attempted murder of five workers on his ranch in Venezuela. When I first heard about this story last year I was absolutely stunned to hear the accusations against him. Tales of attacking and injuring workers with machetes and pouring gasoline on them at his family’s ranch. Urbina has continued to deny being involved, but either way he will serve time now. I’m pretty sure ole “Ugy” won’t be closing games anymore in MLB. 😉
Tony LaRussa Asleep at the Wheel
Tony LaRussa the St. Louis Cardinals manager was arrested early this morning with a DUI because he was asleep at the wheel of his SUV. Tony was stopped at a light and was found all hunched over after a couple of cars finally went around LaRussa after a couple of cycles through the stop light. The cops were finally able to wake Tony after rapping on his window and that led to him failing his sobriety test and blowing .093. I to this day don’t understand why these athletes who have so much cash can’t pay a taxi or hire their own personal driver.
Charlie “Hustle”
Digs his no Hall of Fame grave more and more all the time. Pete Rose confessed today on the Dan Patrick show that he bet on his Cincinnati Reds “every night.” Not only did he drop this revelation, but Rose wants to manage in Major League Baseball again too. LOL!!!!! LOL!!!! LOL!!!! I will have to come back to this topic another time because I simply can’t stop laughing. Read more here – Pete Rose confession
Roseanne Barr Star Spangled Banner
Baseball season is approaching and it made me think of her rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. Thoughts?
Baseball Card Mania
The most famous baseball card to collectors is the Honus Wagner tobacco card of 1909. There are about 60 in existence, but only one stands above the rest in condition. The card has previously been owned by Wayne Gretzky along with other large sports memorabilia collectors. The card sold for a record setting $2,350,000 yesterday to an anonymous buyer. That is some serious cheddar for baseball card!
Barry Bonds Reports to Spring Training
DAMN! My wish didn’t come true that somehow he would blow a gasket from all the performance enhancing drugs he has ingested and never return to baseball again. 🙁
Atlanta Braves Are Being Sold
I have either been asleep at the wheel or I just haven’t been keeping up because I had no idea this team was up for sale. Time Warner is going to sell the Braves, some magazines, and a billion in cash to Liberty Media in exchange for about $60 million shares of Time Warner which are roughly worth $1.27 billion. No more Ted Turner at the games? No more Braves on TBS? Stay tuned and we will let you know if and when this deal closes.
Cutting to the Chase
Is exactly what the Philadelphia Phillies did with Chase Utley so they could avoid salary arbitration. Utley received a new seven-year agreement for a whopping $85 million. The Phillies not only feel Chase is the best second baseman in the National League, but also one of the top 10-15 players in all of Major League Baseball. Utley hit 32 home runs and had 102 RBI’s along with a batting average of .309 for the 2006 season. Utley is definitely getting a huge pay raise considering he was paid $500,000 last year.
