Mike Leake was arrested yesterday at the downtown Macy’s in Cincinnati for reportedly ripping the tags off six t-shirts and shoplifting them. The six t-shirts totaled $59.88 which makes this story all the more troubling. Last week Leake received a paycheck of $40,000 and will make a total of $425,000 this year pitching for the Reds. He also received a $1.8 million signing bonus two years ago as Cincy’s #1 draft pick so what is he thinking? The Reds are sheltering Leake from the media at this time, for good reason, but he is scheduled to pitch this Thursday against Arizona. Hopefully for Red’s fans Leake will be able to steal some runs from the Diamondbacks bats.
