College Football Bet of the Day – November 3rd, 2009

Tonight’s Tuesday night college football matchup is between Bowling Green and Buffalo. These two teams like to score so I expect to see the scoreboard light up a lot this evening.

Bowling Green/Buffalo over 55

Overall Record:

College Football 30-19 (this year) 135-110-1 (overall)
NFL 21-11 (this year) 124-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 197-149-6

Jim Nantz Gets Taken to the Cleaners

CBS sportscaster Jim Nantz has been ordered by a Connecticut judge to pay a staggering $916,000 a year in alimony and child support to his now ex-wife. Nantz makes an estimated $4 million a year and his ex of 26 years went for the juggler during the divorce proceedings after Jim started dating a 29-year-old prior to the divorce being finalized. Lorrie Nantz was able to use Jim’s relationship against him in order to get the huge amount of cash along with a six-bedroom home they once shared. I sure hope Jim’s new squeeze is worth it and if I were him I would be looking for more gigs to host. Paying almost $1 million a year seems almost unbelievable when you consider his job is to watch sports for a living.

My First Golden Tee Hole-in-One

I’m still an amateur at best at the game of Golden Tee, but I’m trying my best to get better. I was finally able to stroke a hole-in-one and it came on hole three at Monument Valley. I finally was able to break par recently as well so it’s only a matter of time until I can actually contend with some of my friends. It has taken me many months to get to this point so holla if you hear me!

NFL Bet of the Day – November 2nd, 2009

The undefeated New Orleans Saints are hosting the Atlanta Falcons for a Monday Night Football battle and it’s also a divisional tilt. The Saints have been piling up points at a record pace and I don’t see that stopping tonight in front of a national TV audience.

Overall Record:

College Football 30-20 (this year) 135-111-1 (overall)
NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Two Jayhawks Make AP Preseason All-America Team

Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich are the sixth set of teammates to be part of the 1st team Preseason All-America sqaud since it began in 1986. On a separate note is anyone suprised a Dookie made the squad?

AP 1st Team:

Luke Harangody, Notre Dame – Forward (57 votes)

Sherron Collins, Kansas – Guard (39 votes)

Brandon Spikes Eye Gouging Video

Everyone knows things can get dirty during a pileup in a football game, but most of the time those antics aren’t captured on tape. Well, check out this video of Florida Gators linebacker Brandon Spikes aggregiously gouging the eyes of Georgia Bulldogs running back Washaun Ealey during their game this past weekend. I think SEC officials should be looking at this tape very closely and possibly take some disciplinary action.

Update – The Gators have suspended Spikes for the first half of their next game against Vanderbilt. BIG DEAL!

College Football Bet of the Day – October 30th, 2009

It’s All Hallows Eve and we have a Big East Friday night tilt between West Virginia and South Florida. South Florida has been struggling a bit recently and I expect to see that trend continue tonight.

West Virginia -3

Overall Record:

College Football 30-19 (this year) 135-110-1 (overall)
NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

College Football Bet of the Day – October 29th, 2009

The Tarheels roll into Blacksburg this evening which means trouble is at the foot of Circle K. The Tarheels offense is stagnant generally and the Hokies have one heck of a D. I think this game is going way under!

Heels/Hokies under 43.5

Overall Record:

College Football 29-19 (this year) 134-110-1 (overall)
NFL 20-11 (this year) 123-83-5 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
College Basketball 197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Semi-Pro Football Game Goes Way Wrong

Check out this video describing an incident that reverently occurred at a Western New York Cougars semi-pro football game. A player took his helmet and literally struck referee Pete McCabe in the head and broke multiple bones and detached his nose after the game concluded. This story is disgraceful and I hope Leon Woods a 23-year-old from Rochester serves some serious time for this disgraceful act. It’s a semi-professional football game for Pete’s sake!
