Tonight comes what I percieve as shocking news out of Lubbock, Texas. Bob Knight has called it quits mid-season as the head basketball coach of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Knight is the winningest coach ever in men’s college basketball with 902 wins. Knight is not only known as a winner in college basketball he is also known as one of the most controversial coaches of all-time. “The General” had many run-ins with players, students, citizens and of course referees where his fire and brimstone exuded in typical firey fashion. His son Pat Knight will take over the team immediately and Bobby will walk off into the sunset.

OMG….even though I hate you for beating my boyz in 1987…you will be missed.
I knew his time was definitely coming, but I’m surprised he did it right now. I know his intentions all along were to give his son the job, but why not shoot for 905 wins or maybe even 910? Each of those marks could be achieved this year.
I wonder if he had on his game Face when he told his AD.
