Today was a day that every star and planet was aligned for the most recognized soccer player on the planet. David Beckham received a $250 million dollar deal over five years to play for the Los Angeles Galaxy of the MLS. I am a huge sports fan and will watch anything, but I don’t even hardly watch the MLS. As a matter of fact in the whole scheme of things no one watches MLS in comparison to foreign soccer leagues and more importantly World Cup. Beckham also couldn’t even get off the bench for his former club team, but hey what’s $250 million to the Galaxy, right? I’m sure the city of Los Angeles will welcome Beckham and wife “Posh” with open arms, but I just can’t fathom how they will reap the benefits of this contract. Beckham is definitely an icon and will make the tabloids consistently now that he lives here in the city of the Stars, but in the long run this could be a HUGE bust for the only professional soccer league in America.

P.S. FYI – MLS…I hear Mardona from Argentina is off his 40th coke bender and feels ready to play soccer again.
