There is a new “sideline reporter” for NBC and their Heads Up Poker Championship series. Leann Tweeden has replaced former reporter Shana Hiatt and does so quite well if I say so myself. Check out a couple of these pics and tell me what you think.

So in the midst of tossing and turning this evening, this morning, whatever it is right now, I look up at the tv, and what the hell is Kevin James doing winning the final table of a World Series of Poker Event?!?!

I mean, Jeff Lisandro, Kevin James…Clark Kent, Superman…Bruce Wayne, Batman…..are they ever seen together? Hmmmmm……

I can’t stand his antics and attitude, but Phil Hellmuth could be the best poker player EVER. ‘The Poker Brat’ won his record breaking 11th World Series of Poker bracelet last night in Las Vegas. Hellmuth won the $1,500 No Limit Hold’Em event when his opponent Andy Philachack pushed his last $500,000 in with A10 of clubs against Hellmuth’s A3 offsuit. The flop brought a horrible bad beat with a 3 and a vitory to Hellmuth. If roles were reversed we would still hear Hellmuth bitching and moaning today. The win earned Hellmuth $637,254!

The 2006 WSOP Main Event is over and a former Hollywood talent agent is now a very very very rich man. Jamie Gold pretty much ran away with the tournament especially at the final table yesterday. I find it quite odd that earlier in the week there was an article at ESPN that he was contemplating in one way or another trying to throw the tournament so he wouldn’t have the glitz and glamour of being the WSOP champion. Was this in all reality the biggest poker bluff ever?

21 year old Jeff Madsen won the $5000 short handed (six player) no-limit tournament over the weekend in Las Vegas. As we pointed out last week, Jeff Madsen is the youngest player ever to win a WSOP bracelet and now he has added a second one. All in all Madsen has won over $1.4 million in the last two weeks with the biggest event yet to be played. The $10k Main Event kicks off this coming Friday and will have over 8,000 players participating with a purse the size of Fort Knox.

Jeff Madsen is now the youngest player ever to win a WSOP tournament. Madsen won a $2k no-limit hold-em event yesterday at the ripe old age of 21 years, one month and nine days old. The tournament was over a three day period with roughly 1,500 people competing at the chance to win over $600k. Madsen won the large purse and the always coveted WSOP bracelet. Don’t forget tonight starts the showing of WSOP events on ESPN.

I have been in Sin City for the last five days so I apologize for the lack of posts on my part.  I would like to say thanks to Wolfman for keeping the great sports info rollin on the Underground.  I personally realized during my trip to Vegas Vegas Vegas that I’m not ready to be a professional player yet, but that I’m light years better than I was the last time I went.  I finished 2nd in a tourney at the Monte Carlo (pictured above) and did rather well in a few limit cash games.  I will make the WPT or WSOP within the next three years and I hope to be professional by 2015 tops.  Anyway, I’m back!
