Anthony Kim Needs a Drink

Anthony Kim has been called “the current John Daly” by Australian golfer Robert Allenby after Kim supposively pulled an all night bender the night/morning before the final day of the Presidents Cup this past weekend. Allenby told Golf Week some of his friends saw Anthony walking “sideways” into the hotel around 4 AM Sunday morning. The catch is this was only five hours before Kim teed off against Allenby and Kim whooped Allenby by winning 5 and 3. There is also a report surfacing that Fred Couples asked Anthony to leave a team function earlier in the week because he was all crunked up. Kim is denying that either of these stories is true, but it sure sounds like Kim likes to throw down. I think Allenby is the one who looks like a schmuck considering he got worked by someone who was completely trashed just hours before.

NFL Bet of the Day – October 12th, 2009

The Jets are 20-5-2 ATS in the last 27 meetings against the Dolphins and this year New York is 3-1 ATS. I expect the Dolphins to play well tonight at home, but the Jets win out in the end.

Jets -2

College Football 23-17 (this year) 128-108-1 (overall)
NFL 19-10 (this year) 122-82-5 (overall)

College Basketball 197-149-6
NHL 1-2
NBA 44-36

Things Are Getting Sloppy in Lawrence

The upcoming 2009-10 college basketball season started off with so much promise for the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. Sherron Collins and Cole Aldrich both decided to stay in Lawrence, Kansas and the Rock Chalk Jayhawks were appointed as the number one team in the country. Then things started to go awry and the players started to get loco almost in consecutive order. Their conduct over the last month has been piss poor and it has casted an ugly haze around the program.

1. Sophomore guard Tyshawn Taylor threw a punch at a Kansas football player which hurt his thumb and led to two separate fights between the basketball and football programs.
2. Junior guard Brady Morningstar was suspended from the team for the first semester after getting a DWI.
3. Sherron Collins showed up to preseason workouts at a whopping 229 pounds. Coach Self slammed Collins publicly and stated he will need to lose 20-30 pounds in the coming weeks.
4. Sophomore center Markieff Morris was in a car accident in a car registered to former Jayhawk Scott Pollard. Hmmm?

Even with all the problems swirling around Self and his team they are still the overwhelming favorite to win the National Championship. Self’s arrogance is staggering and it seems to be rubbing off on his basketball team in bad bad way. If you ask me Self needs to get this ship back on course and quick or things won’t be so promising come March.

Its Friday! That Means a WAC Game is on TV

This is a Friday Nights Dream Play
Louisiana Tech at Nevada (-10.5) – Believe it or not this line opened at -6 and is now up to -10 1/2 so you do the math.
I am sure degenerates caught a glimpse of what Nevada is capable of doing during their total demolition of UNLV 63-28 last week in Vegas while running for 559 yards and generating 773 yards of offense even after losing 4 fumbles.
No BS on those stats so that is a crushing like you have never seen. When Nevada is on, they can score.

wac_featureNevada had 3 guys rush for more than 170 yards last week. There is no way Louisiana Tech with the 82nd ranked defense will stop them. La Tech gives up 186 yards per game on the ground allowing 4.23 yards per rush and lets teams convert 43% of their third down conversions against them. The Bulldogs will not stop a potent offense like Nevada that seems to have figured out what they couldnt get going at Notre Dame in the season opener.

And if you still dont believe me..

  • Wolf Pack are 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games as a favorite of 10.5 or greater.
  • Wolf Pack are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games as a home favorite of 10.5 or greater.
  • Wolf Pack are 20-7 ATS in their last 27 games as a home favorite.
  • Wolf Pack are 22-9 ATS in their last 31 home games.

LA. Tech is going on the road and will get blown out. Plain and simple.

Run, do not walk to the bookie because Nevada will cover and the Over 58.5 will fall as well!!
Plus I have a parlay which started yesterday with Nebraska riding with it as well so Go Pack!

Quick Pix for Saturday

Iowa State at Kansas (-19) – My Wagering team of the year is Kansas. They went 10-2 last year ATS and this year they are 3-1. Iowa State stinks. Kansas will roll.

TCU (-10) at Air Force – Lets see. You roll into Clemson and beat them. Why cant you do this at Air Force?  Give the points and take TCU

Kentucky at South Carolina (-9.5) – The best thing Kentucky has done this year was give the media Tim tebow talk 24/7. They have had their arse whooped at home 2 straight. South Carolina makes it 3 in a row. Give the -10 and USC

College Football Bets of the Day – October 8th, 2009

Tonight’s ESPN Thursday night game takes a drastic switch with a Big 12 shootout taking center stage. You don’t see two teams with this sort of talent often on a weekday night so enjoy! Good luck everyone.

Erin Andrews Stalker Shows His Face

The man accused of stalking and videotaping the stunning Erin Andrews has been ordered by a federal judge to stay off the internet, home confinement except for work, and to wear an electronic ankle bracelet. Michael David Barrett is the name of the man accused of following Erin Andrews to cities like Nashville and Milwaukee and illegally recording several minutes of the female ESPN sideline reporter in her hotel room in nothing but her birthday suit. Barrett is a divorced insurance salesman who went through a lot of work to tape Andrews by requesting rooms beside her and then using a hacksaw to alter her room’s peephole and then placing a camera in the peephole to record Miss Andrews. So far an ankle bracelet and home confinement seems pretty light, but I got a feeling this peeping Tom will get the book thrown at him based on the exposure this case has received.

The MLB Playoffs are Finally Here

Does anyone know that the MLB Playoffs are here? Well, if anyone has paid attention the playoffs have in a way been going on since October 1st when you consider the AL Central is going into the 163rd game today to determine a division winner.  Ya, I know, who knew?

MLB has been almost as bad as the NHL when it comes to marketing their product. The AL Central and the NL West were up for grabs and what does MLB do? Absolutely nothing. Oh they had a game or two on ESPN, but with sweeps happening on prime time TV since October 1st there was no way to get on national TV other than on ESPN.

mlb_a_thumbsts_400

My biggest problem is Fox, who has the NLCS, currently has one show in the top 20 and their Saturday Baseball games have one of the worst ratings in years for their Saturday 4PM slot. Heck, even a golf tourney without Tiger does better than their snoozers. TBS which has most of all the playoff games has ZERO shows in the top 20.  Why wouldnt these stations add some of the last weeks action to their slots in order to get people pumped up for the playoffs?

It is a crying shame that America’s former pastime has fallen to where a Wednesday night Louisiana Tech versus Hawaii college football game gets more viewers than a primetime MLB game.

In any case here are my NLDS and ALDS predictions:

St. Louis beats the Dodgers in 3

Colorado beats Philly in 4

Angels beat Red Sox in 5

Twins beat Yankees in 4 or Yankees beat Tigers in 3

Eli’s Locker Room Note

This little message was allegedly left by New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning after their week 2 victory over the Cowboys in the new Cowboys Stadium. The message was found on a concrete slab in the visitor’s locker room and is pretty ballsy if it’s actually Manning’s real John Hancock. Is there a chance Eli isn’t the stick in the mud he appears to be on a daily basis?

NFL Bet of the Day – October 5th, 2009

Many folks are calling tonight the biggest Monday Night football game ever. I suspect the ratings will support this notion, but will the game live up to the hype? Going with the Vikings in this one.
