Top Ten Things God Has Told Allen Iverson

Allen Iverson informed everyone today via Twitter that he has accepted a contract offer to play with the Memphis Grizzlies by stating, “God Chose Memphis as the place that I will continue my career.” Iverson will reportedly earn $3.5 million and the Grizzlies have scheduled a press conference for Thursday morning to make a major announcement so it sounds like a done deal. We thought this would be a good time to provide our top ten list of the other things God has told Allen Iverson over the years.

10. Rapping just isn’t your thing Allen.
9. Neck tattoos aren’t cool.
8. Talking about your one MVP season is about as interesting as reading the Dead Sea Scrolls.
7. What were you “The Answer” to?
6. Don’t hate on Mello he is just better than you are now.
5. You will never win an NBA tilte. Isn’t karma a beast!
4. You should never give up even if you are playing for the washed up Pistons.
3. Heaven isn’t 420 friendly.
2. $21 million will never be your annual salary again.
1. Yes Allen, we are talking about practice.

Guy Dupuy Gets Ridunkulous

Kadour Ziani is a member of the group Slam Nation that tours the world showing off their amazing dunking skills which are impressive to say the least. After watching the video below we have another dunking indvidual and group we would like to recognize. Check out this video of Guy Dupuy of Team Flight Brothers performing an off-the-bounce, over someone standing, between the legs dunk!

Mayfield Mud Slinging Continues

The Jeremy Mayfield saga continues unravel with more and more bizarre news and accusations and the latest coming earlier today. Mayfield who was suspended a few months ago from NASCAR for allegedly smoking crystal meth has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against his stepmother Lisa Mayfield over the death of his father. Mayfield and his legal team filed the suit late last week in North Carolina Superior Court. The lawsuit doesn’t state specifically how his stepmother was involved in the death of Terry Mayfield, but claims her “intentional actions” were a key role in his death. The investigation performed by police stated Terry Mayfield died from a suicidal gunshot to his chest, but it seems Jeremy thinks his stepmother is the culprit. This story has already been an ugly one for the Mayfield family, but it could get a lot worse before there is resolution.

College Football Bets of the Day – September 5th, 2009

Things haven’t been very good for Rich Rod so far in Ann Arbor and I don’t see that changing today with all the controversy swirling around his team. I like Western Michigan to give Michigan a scare and cover the 13. I also really like the over in the Cal/Maryland game!

College Football Bet of the Day – September 4th, 2009

We didn’t get off on the best foot yesterday, but there are games everyday through Labor Day so we will turn it around. Tulsa lost their starting quarterback from last year, but their offense is plug and play and G.J Kinne a transfer from Texas should do the trick.

Tulsa -13.5

College Football 1-2 (this year) 107-93-1 (overall)
MLB 90-69-5
NFL 103-72-5

LeGarrette Blount Hitting Boise State Football Player Video

Senior Oregon Ducks tailback LeGarrette Blount went straight loco last night after a disappointing loss to Boise State. Blount had been crowing all summer that the Ducks were going to roll into Boise and destroy the Broncos, but Boise State didn’t cave in. Boise won a defensive battle 19-8 and after the game linbacker Byron Hout from Boise asked Blount how he liked that a$$ whooping. Blount almost instantaneously sucker punched Hout and then went absolutely bonker on Boise fans as well. There hasn’t been any word from the Oregon football program, but this incident has given them a huge black eye. Look for Blount to get a multi-game suspension if he isn’t thrown off the team for good!

The SEC is Locked and Loaded

The SEC continues to be the best conference in all of college football and there really isn’t an argument around this topic, but to be frank it wasn’t heads and shoulders over a couple of conferences last year. Yes, Florida won the BCS Championship and overall the conference did well in the bowl season, but do not forget the second best team Alabama got worked by Utah in the Sugar Bowl and South Carolina was crushed by Iowa in the Outback Bowl. Overall the offenses were pretty bad last year considering six teams finished 97th or lower in total offense, five teams finished 81st or lower in rushing and seven teams finished 87th or lower in scoring. Also, SEC teams scheduled weak non-conference games on the whole and outside of a few top teams the quality was pretty poor for SEC standards.

Even the best have some down times and look for things to rebound back to their normal high standards this year. Auburn and Tennessee are almost assured to be better than their horrible seasons last year and Arkansas is improving under coach Bobby Petrino. LSU has reloaded and will be ready to roll this year and South Carolina’s offense has the promise of being something better than the anemic output they have seen in the last couple of years. Georgia will drop a little after losing Stafford and Moreno, but I could see them still being a solid team. Then you have Alabama, Ole Miss and Florida who are all heavyweights on the national scene. The only real dogs in the league this year should be Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Mississippi State.

Surprise Team

Georgia – The spotlight is completely off of the team now that Stafford and Moreno have left for the NFL and they have a lot of positive items in their favor. The Bulldogs have one of the best offensive lines in the country, a truckload of good running backs and an excellent defense. Keep an eye on Mark Richt and the Dawgs!

Disappointing Team

Mississippi – This team will not be able to live up to the hype surrounding them. Last year they flew under the radar for most of the year and took solid team after solid team down, but this year they come in highly ranked in most polls. LSU and Alabama could be better than they were last year and they along with the rest of the SEC are going to give the Rebels their best shot. Look for this team to lose at least three games.

Game of the Year

Florida versus Georgia in the world’s largest cocktail party. We mentioned Georgia as our sleeper and we think this could be a game that Florida could lose this year. Look out!

Bottom Line – The SEC is back to full strength so it should be an exciting year to say the least. While Florida is head and shoulders the favorite in the conference and in the country with all defensive starters coming back and Tim Tebow still running the show there are a lot of other tough teams that want to contend. Look for LSU to be much better, Georgia to be very strong and Bama and Ole Miss to make New Year Day bowl games. I think in the end even with all the pressure Florida will pull out the SEC Championship barring an injury to Tebow or Brandon Spikes on defense.

Romo Has a New Flame

I’m sure we all know by now that Tony Romo broke up with Jessica Simpson recently, but do any of you know who he is dating now?
According to reports from CelebTV.com the Dallas Cowboys quarterback is kicking it with Candice Crawford the former Miss Missouri. Miss Crawford is a Dallas TV sports reporter, how convenient, and hosts the weekend television show for the Cowboys. She might not have the same flotation devices as Jessica, but being the quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys comes with some definite perks.
