Somebody Give Oklahoma a Cookie
0 Comments Published by wolfman August 23rd, 2006 in General Sports, College FootballI gotta tell ya, nothing gets by that steel trap of a mind out in Oklahoma. It seems as though they have decided to ban student athletes from working at the dealership that cost them two players for the upcoming season, including their starting QB Rhett Bomar. My question is, why did it take this long?! Surely the investigation into how a college kid made $18k working 5 hours a week this summer couldn’t have dragged on this long. But, they can now announce to the world and shout from the rooftops that they are TOUGH ON CRIME!…oh yeah, TOUGH ON RECRUITING VIOLATIONS! Everyone and their cousin knows that there is more going on there, or they would have shoved this under the rug. The very fact that they were willing to give up their #2 guy to keep from having an investigation from the NCAA is very telling.
Report: Rhett Bomar Dismissed from Oklahoma
0 Comments Published by stonecoldjz August 2nd, 2006 in College FootballRhett Bomar and another player not named have been reportedly dismissed from the Oklahoma football team. The report indicates starting quarterback Bomar and another player received pay worth more than the actual work involved with their job. Bomar was an impressive redshirt freshman last year for the Sooners and was ready for a break out season so this will deal a major blow to the Oklahoma program.
