36 year-old Allan Houston has signed with his former team the New York Knicks for undisclosed amount. Houston said he wants another shot in the NBA because he didn’t leave by choice in 2005. He retired because of an arthritic left knee which makes me wonder how in the world this knee has miraculously healed in the last two years. Houston hasn’t played a full NBA season in five years when he averaged over 22 points a game. In 2001 the Knicks paid Allan $100 million dollars to play only one full season in then 70 games in the next two before retiring. The Knicks need to understand the reason we take history classes is so we don’t repeat our mistakes because all this team does is make mistake after mistake. Nice pick up guys…….NOT!
Check out this video clip of Stephon Marbury singing his praises for the acquisition of Zach Randolph. I think he should have been making a bigger deal about the fact they got rid of Steve Francis in the trade.
Kobe Bryant was beside himself after he learned of his one game suspension handed down from the NBA Tuesday for his elbow to Ginobli of the Spurs this past weekend. The Lakers were set to play the New York Knicks Tuesday evening so Kobe requested an immediate appeal hearing to the NBA office, but around 5:00 om ET the league turned down the request. Kobe was not allowed to play in Madison Square Garden and the Lakers lost 94-99. Kobe was and I’m sure is still livid about this questionable suspension and I doubt this will be the last we hear about it.

It always helps when you have a long winning streak and you are playing the New York Knicks and the Suns took full advantage of the situation. Phoenix won 112-107 in Madison Square Garden and their current record is now 34-8. Amare Stoudemire dropped 30 and Steve Nash scored 22 points and also dished 14 assists. Phoenix plays at Milwaukee this Friday and 16 is definitely possible.
The saga continues with the New York Knicks and Larry Brown and it probably won’t subside for quite some time. As we all know by now, he was fired yesterday and replaced by Isiah Thomas after a 29-53 record in his first year with the Knicks. New York had a payroll of close to $125 million yet there team was full of has-beens and washed-up rejects. The Knicks have also stated they will not pay the $40 million remaining on Brown’s contract because they fired him due to just-cause. Knicks management feels strongly they will win because Brown supposively didn’t hold up his end of the contract in many ways. My, my, my, this is going to get real ugly and then we can look forward to an even uglier Knicks season this coming year!
