In a bizarre twist of fate Byron Leftwich is no longer the starting quarterback for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jack Del Rio announced today that not only is David Garrard now the starter, but Leftwich will be cut or traded. Ouch! I knew there was no love lost between these two based on their disagreements from last year when Leftwich didn’t agree with being benched even though he was injured, but this is quite a surprise. The main question now is how long until the Atlanta Falcons acquire the veteran quarterback? If he doesn’t get picked up though he can always star as Rerun in What’s Happening II.
