Gonzaga had a 50-game win streak at home halted last night against 19-7 Santa Clara. The win also put Santa Clara in first place in the West Coast Conference at 9-2 while Gonzaga slipped to second at 8-3. Gonzaga is obviously missing their star player Josh Heytvelt who was suspended indefinitely from the team along with Theo Davis after a traffic stop this past weekend. The traffic stop led to the discovery of marijuana and little trippy mushrooms. I feel confident in stating that we will not see the beloved Zags this year in the NCAA tournamanet.

San Diego covers +13 against Gonzaga
OVERALL RECORD:
College Basketball 19-8-1
College Football: 10-8
Last year was the epic run of George Mason to the Final Four and Gonzaga has become a household name in recent years due to their excellent play. Mid-major teams in NCAA basketball continue to get better and better and last night was another testament to this point. The Butler Bulldogs defteated Gonzaga in the Preseason NIT 79-71 to win the title. Butler previously defeated Indiana in Bloomington and then nationally ranked Tennessee to reach the championship. Butler is only one of many mid-major teams who you will hear from this year. Creighton, Hofstra, Southern Illinois, Old Dominion, Oral Roberts and even Missouri State who just upset #7 Wisconsin yesterday. I love the underdog so this year in the NCAA should be fun!
