Stephen Jackson

It was a real close race this week for our prestigious award. Delta O’Neal almost pulled it out by being the eighth Cincinnati Bengal to be arrested this year. It never ceases to amaze me that these millionaires can’t pay someone to drive their sorry A$$ around. The winner this week is Stephen Jackson of the Indiana Pacers. Jackson could be one of the scummiest people to ever play professional sports and we all know that is saying a LOT. “Thug for life” was most recently kicked off his bench by Rick Carlisle after a profanity laced argument started because Jackson was removed from the game. I really want Stephen Jackson to just go away for good due to his constant conduct that is nothing but detrimental to his team and the entire league.

SportsUnderground.com's Dumb A$$ of the Week AwardThis week the honor goes to Reggie McNeal of the Cincinnati Bengals. McNeal becomes the SEVENTH Bengal to be arrested this year. McNeal was arrested in Houston and charged with resisting arrest after being refused entrance to a nightclub early Sunday morning. Two officers were standing near a club in Houston and things went wrong when the officers tried to tell McNeal the club was closing. McNeal shouted some profanity at the cops and even elbowed one of them in the chest. Nice work Reggie! I can only hope you were trying to get in the club to see “professional night” with Jenna Jameson as the headliner. This can be the only explanation to get that irate.

SportsUnderground.com's Dumb A$$ of the Week

This week we had a clear cut winner for the award. It goes to no other than mister “it’s all about me” Braylon Edwards. Earlier in the week he criticized Cleveland’s conservative offensive play calling publically and then went on to question his own teammate Brian Russell for his hard hit on Chad Johnson earlier in the season. Things really escalated yesterday on the sidelines against the Bengals when Edwards exchanged heated words with quarterback Charlie Frye and even grabbed his jersey while teammates tried to calm him down. Quality character Mr. Edwards!

Cincinnati BUNGLES

Cincinnati BengalsCan someone…anyone tell me what the heck is going on up in Cincinnati? I can’t remember in my lifetime one team with so many run-ins with the law in such a short time period. Cincinnati Bengals guard Eric Steinbach is the most recent player to be arrested after driving his boat under the influence on the Oho River this past weekend. He is only one of five Bengals players who have been breaking the law. We certainly can’t forget wide receiver Chris Henry who has been arrested FOUR times since December ‘05 and is on trial this month in Orlando, Fla. for a gun charge. Then you have newly drafted defensive players Frostee Rucker being arrested for spousal battery and A.J. Nicholson for burglary and grand theft. Finally let’s not forget Matthias Askew who last month had to receive the effects of a stun gun because he resisted arrest. I really don’t think you can blame coach Marvin Lewis for not controlling his players because these are grown adults doing these things outside of his supervision. I do think though it’s time for some major steps to be taken before the Cincinnati Bengals have to play their games on a prison field like in “The Longest Yard.” Is it a coincidence the tiger stripes slight resmeble prison stripes??? I think not!
