Atta Boy Joe

Joe Torre

Joe Torre has just turned down a one-year offer from the Yankees. The offer was for $5 million with $3 million in incentives. I’m so glad he punked George and tweedle dee and tweedle dumb (Hank and Hal) after they took so long to make a decision. I hope they get stuck with former Yankee Steve Howe as their manager. You da man Joe!

StonecoldJZ’s Sound Off

StonecoldJZ's Sound Off

My top five sound offs for the day cover the gammet of professional sports. Enjoy!

* Kobe decides to pack his locker up because it’s his time of the month again. What a phenomenal athlete yet what a panty wearing cancer off the court. Buss has to do something this time and I really want him to trade Kobe to the Mavericks for Dirt Nowitzki and Devon Harris.

* If I were Torre I would walk away as quickly as humanly possible for a man who is almost 70 years old. First Steinbeeotch says he is going to fire you now he is turninig over his Evil Empire in true nepotism form. You have been a man all the while Joe so don’t stop now. Walk away before they offer you a one to two year deal for half the money you were making. Sooner or later they will figure out it’s Cashman who is the real reason the Yankees can’t get over the hump.

* Earth to Bobby Petrino…Leftwich is not the answer. Your O line SUX and Leftwich is about as mobile as a car phone roaming. Stew on that for a minute.

* Welcome back Priest Holmes. I would love to see you play another NFL game, but I just don’t want it to be with the Chiefs because I have LJ and he finally got his groove back. 🙂

* The NHL has been playing regular season games now for 2 weeks. I mean I knew they had dropped the puck, but I wasn’t aware some teams had played 6 games by now. Is that because Versus has the package?

Chris Chambers Traded

Chris Chambers

It’s not often there is a big trade before the NFL trade deadline, but this one should have some impact. The San Diego Chargers traded a second round pick next year to the struggling Dolphins in order to acquire veteran wide receiver Chris Chambers. Chambers played for the Wisconsin Badgers and was drafted by Dolphins in 2001. Chamber’s best year was in 2005 when he caught 82 balls for over 1,100 yards and 11 touchdowns. Chambers and Vincent Jackson along with Antonio Gates at tight end should give Rivers a solid receiving corps. Agree?

NFL Free Pick of the Day

This one scares me a bit, but I have to go with them because the Falcons are an absolute mess right now.

New York Giants cover -4.5 at Hotlanta

Nebraska A.D. Gets the Boot

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson was fired today just two days after a complete Big 12 football embarassment went down in Lincoln, Nebraska. The Cornhuskers football team lost 45-14 at home to a mediocre Oklahoma State team and Nebraska now has been outscored 86-20 in their last two games. The sad thing is the University just re-upped Pederson’s contract in the summer for five years which means he is going to get some nice cash to walk away, but the sadder thing is Bill Callahan still has a job??? The guys is a COMPLETE joke and he showed that he was in Oakland! I suggest you let his sorry a$$ go to before the state of Nebraska takes care of him on their own.

NFL Bet of the Day – Part Deux

New Orleans Saints

New Orleans Saints cover +6 at Seattle

Overall Record:

NFL 29-16-3
College Football: 23-23
MLB 4-0
College Basketball 48-37-2

Welcome Back Bungles

Cincinnati Bungles

The Cincinnati Bengals are now officially back to their normal name over the last few years of the Bungles. They dropped to 1-4 today after losing to the offensively challenged Kansas City Chiefs. KC was able to throw up 27 points against the pourous Bungles defense that is currently allowing 31.2 points a game. The one thing I can’t figure out is that the Bungles head coach Marvin Lewis used to be a highly touted defensive coordinator. Things that make you go hmmmmmm.
