The free agenet MLB reliever has been sentenced to 14 years in jail for attempted murder of five workers on his ranch in Venezuela. When I first heard about this story last year I was absolutely stunned to hear the accusations against him. Tales of attacking and injuring workers with machetes and pouring gasoline on them at his family’s ranch. Urbina has continued to deny being involved, but either way he will serve time now. I’m pretty sure ole “Ugy” won’t be closing games anymore in MLB.
