This week it must go to Arizona Cardinals coach Dennis Green. Denny allowed his team to completely fall apart this past Monday night against the undefeated Chicago Bears and blow a 23-3 lead in the third quarter. Green utlimately had his own meltdown when he went on a tirade in the press conference after the loss. Then he coached his team to a pathetic 22-9 loss against the previously winless Oakland Raiders who many thought could go through the whole season without a win. There is no doubt in my mind that if the 1-6 Cardinals lose this week to Green Bay then Denny will be fired as head coach during their bye week.

Rumors have been swirling since the beginning of the season that John Bunting would be fired as head coach of the North Carolina Tarheels football team and Sunday it was official. The Tar Heels are 1-6 after an embarassing 23-0 loss this past Thursday on national television to the Virginia Cavaliers and their only win is against Division 1-AA Furman. Athletic Director Dick Baddour announced Sunday that Bunting would be released at the end of the year. Bunting has a record of 25-42 in his six years with the Tar Heels so the writing was definitely on the wall for this to take place.
Mike Tyson is stepping back in the ring after a long hiatus from boxing against someone with a detached retina. Needless to say “Iron Mike” isn’t exactly fighting quality boxers these days and is now stating he would be willing to fight a woman. Wait a second though Mike….Haven’t you been beating up women your entire career anyway?
Marcus Vick was recently added to the Dolphins roster after playing six weeks with the practice squad. “New Mexico” will more than likely be a reserve wide receiver and also return kicks for Miami. I am by no means a fan of Marcus, but he does have potential to be an Randle-El type player unless he decides to pull a gun again in a McDonald’s parking lot.
The word is that Tiki Barber will retire at the end of the year from the New York Giants. Tiki has played his entire career in New York and had close to 15,000 total yards and 62 touchdowns. I really respect a player going out on top rather than waiting until he withers away like some professional athletes. I think the one thing he might miss out on is the Hall of Fame. Cory Lidle crashed his plane yesterday into an apartment building on the East Side of Manhattan yesterday. Lidle was the pilot and his pilot instructor both passed away. The well respected MLB pitcher played on seven MLB teams with the Yankees being his latest team. God bless his family during this tragic time.
