The St. Louis Cardinals suffered a huge setback today after Albert Pujols strained his right oblique muscle. The injury occurred in the second inning today against the Chicago Cubs when Pujols was chasing a pop fly ball off the bat of Aramis Ramirez. Pujols will be reevaluated tomorrow, but is expected to go on the DL and could be gone for up to six weeks. Pujols is having a MONSTER year with 25 home runs and 65 rbi’s to date. It’s a shame this had to happen because I want so bad for someone to break Bonds home run record and Albert is just the man who could concur such a record. Hurry back Albert!

Sean Taylor Survives
Big time! Please tell me how someone could face up to 46 years in prison due to three aggravated assault charges along with a misdemeanor and walk away basically a free man? Sean Taylor of the Washington Redskins can tell you and he better thank his lucky stars. Taylor and his legal team reached an agreement with prosecutors to drop the felony charges and plead no contest to two misdemeanor charges in his assault case. This allows Taylor to not serve one day of time so instead he is on probation for 18 months, community time performing talks with kids at school, and donating $1,000 to each school he attends. Give me a BREAK!!!!!!!!! I am willing to bet right now that Sean Taylor will be in trouble again and I only hope then justice is served.
Kurt Busch Fined
NASCAR officials just made me a very happy man. They fined 21-year old Kurt Busch yesterday $50,000 along with docking him 25 points in the Cup standings and docked his owner Rick Hendrick 25 championship points for his incident this past week at the 600 in Charlotte. This ranks right up there with some of the biggest fines ever levied by NASCAR and for good reason. When I saw Kurt Busch throw part of his HANS safety device at Casey Mears on the track I was stunned and upset. Mears simply got loose then ran into the wall and came back down on Busch with no ill will. Kurt Busch is young and has lots to learn and if he doesn’t soon will someone please just bend him over their knee and give him a much needed spanking!!!
Jackpot Clemens

Roger Clemens just hit black gold aka Texas tea yesterday with the Houston Astros. The two came to an agreement for Clemens to pitch the rest of the year for $22 million. I was shocked initially because he didn’t sign with the Red Sox or Yankees, but more shocked at the price tag. The Astros do NOT have a chance at the World Series and in my opinion will be lucky to make the playoffs. Their offense is down right atrocious and they have marginal picthing at best. I know Roger is the biggest thing going and he will help the Astros, but the cost to get him and supporting cast around him do not add up. Clemens will be very happy with his bank account after the season and that will be about it! The Astros on the other hand will regret making this deal in the long run.
